Cancellation & Refund Policy

This policy forms part of our Booking Terms. "Days" means calendar days before your date of arrival.

Changing instead of cancelling

Before you cancel, please ask us to change the booking instead. More than 30 days before arrival you may change dates, hotels, routing or party size as often as you need, free of charge — see clause 6 of the Booking Terms. Most plans that change do not need to be cancelled.

If you cancel

Cancellation takes effect on the day we receive your cancellation in writing at [email protected].

When we receive your cancellationCharge
More than 60 days before arrivalUSD 50 administration fee. The rest of your deposit is refunded
60 – 22 days before arrival25% of the total price
21 – 08 days before arrival50% of the total price
07 – 02 days before arrival75% of the total price
1 day before arrival, or no-show100% of the total price

Where you have paid more than the charge due, we refund the difference. Where you have paid less — for example if you cancel 10 days out having paid only the deposit — the balance of the charge is payable.

Partial cancellation. If some members of your party cancel and others still travel, the charge above applies to the cancelled travellers' share, and the remaining travellers' price is recalculated — per-person prices depend on how many people share transport and rooms, so it will usually rise.

Non-refundable elements. A small number of items are non-refundable from the moment they are booked, because the supplier takes payment immediately and does not refund it: domestic and international flight tickets, some special-event and festival tickets, and certain fixed-date permits. Where any element of your itinerary is non-refundable, we tell you so in your confirmed quotation, in writing, before you pay. Nothing is treated as non-refundable unless it was disclosed there.

If we cancel

If we cancel your booking for any reason other than your breach of the Booking Terms or a Force Majeure Event, we refund everything you have paid us for the cancelled Arrangements. See clause 7 of the Booking Terms.

Force Majeure

Where war, hostilities, civil unrest, border closure, government action, epidemic, natural disaster or extreme weather prevents your travel, we refund all sums we are able to recover from our suppliers, and we do not retain any margin of our own on the cancelled elements. Where we can, we will offer to move your booking instead, with no change fee.

This is why we ask every traveller to hold travel insurance: insurance, not this policy, is what covers the part a supplier will not release.

Unused services

No refund is due for any service not used after your trip has started — an unused hotel night, meal, excursion or transfer — including where you leave the trip early.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are made to the person who paid, by the method used to pay, normally within 14 working days of the cancellation taking effect. Bank or card charges on the transfer, and any currency movement between payment and refund, are not reimbursed.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy affects any mandatory right you hold under the consumer-protection law of your country of residence.

Write to [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint, give it a reference number and reply substantively.
